Friends of St Mary’s School

The Friends of St Mary’s is literally just that – a group of people (mainly parents and carers of current pupils) supportive of the school.

We welcome new members with open arms, those in a position to take on one of the key roles, such as Chairperson, Treasurer or Secretary, able to commit to helping out on a regular basis, or available only occasionally, ad hoc.

We aim to support the school in a variety of ways, putting on enjoyable events for pupils and/or families, making secondhand uniform available at discounted prices, and fundraising in order to supplement the school’s resources.

As a result we have, amongst other things, been able to donate substantial funds to the school’s library for new books to add to the exciting range already on offer to pupils under the very popular ‘Accelerated Reader’ scheme, and to purchase a Traversing Wall for the school field, which has proved to be a great hit with pupils.
